Book—I love them!

I’ve read hundreds of books, and I love them that’s for sure.

I was out for coffee with a girlfriend of mine yesterday and she told me about two new books I’d never heard of: Trinity and The Crimson Petal of White.

I will check those out. I always read the first paragraph or two to see if I like the author’s writing style before I decide to read them. The library has one of them so I’ll be off there as soon as I can to check it out. The other is at the Chapters-Indigo not far from my office. I’ll head over there and read a bit to give it a try. If I like it I think I’ll get it on my Kobo.

I am currently reading Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day by Winifred Watson. It’s set in Miss Pettigrew’s head and I am thoroughly enjoying the conversation she is continually having with herself about her perceptions of her new employer and her ‘friends’. She keeps re-evaluating her idea of what correct behaviour is. It’s very cute!

I just finished the Maisie Dobbs series. Now that was a great read! I read all eight books within the last two months. I just couldn’t put them down. Maisie Dobbs is an investigator with an intuitive sense of situations that makes her unique, and very, very good at her work. The books are set in England during and after World War 1. I highly recommend this series by Jacqueline Winspear.

I’ll let you know what I think of Trinity and The Crimson Petal of White.

Peace and love.
